Black Metal Rock. Greek Tragedy. Don't expect a happy ending. Dionysus, the god of theatre and debauchery, returns to his birthplace of Thebes to demand recognition of his divinity. Denied tribute, Dionysus summons his half-wild, frenzied followers, The Bacchae, to exact a mighty revenge on the ruling family.

Jay has the privilege and pleasure of working again with his wife and producer/assistant director/costumer, Melissa Jo York-Tilley, and his good friend and one of his favorite directors, Christine D. Lange, in Euripides'
The Bacchae (translated by Ian Johnston) as part of the 3rd Annual Capital Fringe Festival -- "unjuried, risk-taking, independent performing arts."

The Bacchae, in which Jay will portray Cadmus (Dionysus' grandfather) and a messenger, is a Greek tragedy that dates all the way back to 403 BC, but The Rebellious Players will give this tale a black metal twist.

Jay is also excited to share the stage again with Erin Gallalee (
The Merchant of Venice), Marcus Lawrence (Of Mice and Men, A Christmas Carol and The Ghost Sonata), Laura Rocklyn (The Merchant of Venice), Don Petersen (Of Mice and Men), and Jack Powers (Romeo and Juliet and The Man Who Came To Dinner) and to work with Camille Marie Piazza for the first time.

Tickets are $15 for all performances. For ticket information, please visit
www.capfringe.org, and please visit Flashpoint's website for directions and metro accessibility information. Please note that Flashpoint's Mead Theatre has a capacity of about 60 seats, so tickets are expected to sell quickly!
